Bicker Boy gives definition to the words

TOTAL DOG

At the 2005 Puget Sound K9's UKC Washington Classic held in Auburn, Washington - Klicker not only obtained a qualifying score in Novice C obedience, he went on to win the Grand Champion Class, Best of Breed, Terrier Group One, as well as Best In Multi-Breed Show.  Once again, Klicker was recognized by judge Judy Jones, as being the opitome of the perfect APBT.  Not only as a lovely one, but as a true working individual.  Thank you Judy for recognizing there is much more to the American Pit Bull Terrier than top ten competitions.  Klicker is making a name for the American Pit Bull Terrier conformation dogs as reliable and wonderful working dogs.  Klicker is a true asset to the breed.

The true test of a dog's temperament and willingness is his ability to adapt to whatever situation has been put in his way.  Klicker has proven time and time again to be just that kind of dog.  He can run to the weight pull barn, put on his harness and make a qualifying pull.  He can run back to the show ring sporting a pretty chain and win in the ring over several of the breeds best.   He can fly to Michigan to stay with people he has only met once and perform in the breeding barn.    He can sit patiently next to a member of the older generation while getting his head stroked listening to stories of the old days.  He can heal off leash, climb an a-frame, run some poles, water the plants, and attend doggy day care - all in one day.  He can go into the ring and perform like the true champion he is with nervous and fearful newbies on the end of his leash.  He will run agility courses and score perfect 200's for Junior Handlers he has never met!  He can walk through a hail storm without a coat and never even flinch.  He can take a front row seat to and watch the Seattle fireworks display. He can greet numerous customers and their dogs on a daily basis without me anywhere in site.  Show me a dog with less than a great temperament that can do all that.  In November 2005, once again Klicker proved his worthiness to the breed by winning Best of Breed under honorable June Pasko, and making a 15 point earning pull in the weight pull barn under John Victorino and thus earning his THIRD total dog Qualifying award.

In June of 2006 at the UKC Premier held in Kalamazoo Michigan, Klicker did something no other dog has ever done in the history of UKC to anyone's knowledge - he received an Award of Merit in the Grand Champion Class that made him eligable for a TOTAL DOG award.  Not only did he receive TOTAL DOG qualifier ribbon from UKC, Bicker Boy earned his working legs by earning qualifying scores in THREE SEPERATE WORKING EVENTS.  In agility, Bic earned his first grand agility champion leg by receiving 2 perfect 200's and a 199 in the agility ring.  He didn't just qualify with one agility run, he did it with THREE! Next he went on to receive a qualifying score in the dog sport ring by earning his Family Obedience title.  Shortly after all that, he trotted off to the weight pull barn and pulled 32 times his body weight on wheels.  Thanks judges; Ron Sacca (conformation), Kieley Grundahl and Shelly Weeks (agility), the nice guy in the dog sport competition, and Scot Dowd (Weight Pull) for judging and scoring Bicker Boy into this day in history.

Also at the 2006 Premier, Bicker Boy had the unique distinction of sitting between two of the hotest Superdog chicks in the APBT community.   These lovely ladies are a true testiment to the American Pit Bull Terrier and he wanted to take them both.  Too bad for him that they were spayed.  And even if they weren't Penina's breeder would have shot him before he had the chance and her owner would have laughed as she creamed him.  Willow, on the other hand, would have gladly invited him over for a beer.

These three became the first APBT superdogs to earn a title in all four working events offered by UKC.  Each dog holds a title in each venue.  On Klicker' right is the only TWO TIME National Grand Champion P1 UCD UWPCH UAG1 NATL GRCH NATL GRCH GRCH 'PR' BLUE MOON'S SHES JUST A MEMORY and owner handler Beth Jones.  On Bicker's left is the lovely FO UWPS UWPCHX UGRACH UUD CH 'PR' Columbia River Penina MuMuu and Mike Snyder.  Penina is the number one titled dog in all of UKC.

It really was a great honor to be sharing the podium with two of the breed's greatest caretakers.

BickerBoy most likely became the first and only dog to hold Total Dog awards in FIVE total dog events open to all breeds: agility, dog sport, obedience, rally obedience, and weight pull after earning two total dog awards in Rally Obedience in Aurora, Colorado in March 2010!

In August of 2005, six SuperDog teams happened to be competing at the Cascade American Pit Bull Terrier Club weight pull when Charley McGee snapped this photo. From left to right:

Manu McGee and Superdog "Morpheus"

Manu is one of the greatest trainers and most honest people I have ever met.  She is an inspiration to me in her abilities and her skill with dogs on many levels.  I LOVE her dog Morpheus and wish she would show him to his grand!  I remember him earning both his UCD with his co-owner Scot Dowd in 2003 at the APBT Nationals and how awesome it was to see him have such a great time.  I was also lucky enough to see Manu earn her agility titles with this awesome boy!  Way to go Manu, Scot, and Morpheus.

Kim Allison and Superdog "Gabby"

Kim and Ron Allison were instrumental in teaching me about the great sport of weight pull.  Kim has shared a great deal of her knowledge and skill with me and is always an joy to watch work her dogs.  I remember watching and photographing both Gabby and Xena when they ran their first UKC agility trials waaaaay back when.  I never even thought I would have been able to do that too.  Kim was the biggest influence for me in my quest for superdogdom.  Thanks Kim for your encouragement and support - it meant a lot to me.  Way to go Ron and Kim and Gabby and Xena.

(top) Mike Snyder and Superdog "Penina"

Mike and Penina opitomize the ultimate team.  Mike too has been a huge inspiration to me and brings out my competative edge.  For, no matter how hard I work - I can NEVER beat the guy!  I guess if your gonna loose, it might as well be to the best!  Way to go Mike and Penina.

Valerie Piltz and Superdog "BickerBoy"

Angela Burns and Superdog "Mariah"

It is always amazing watching Angela compete with her many Irish Setters.  She has more heart and more tenacity than 98% of the APBT out there today.  Angela inspires heart.  Way to go Angela and Mariah.

Ron Allison and Superdog "Xena"

Ron makes a mean drag sled!!

HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!

In Arpril 2008, at 8 1/2 years old, Bicker Boy came in and won the Grand Class as well as placed in the 60# weight class after a handler withdraw at 36 times his body weight, and earned one of the first Total Dog Awards offered at a UNWPA Pull/Show.  Thanks to the North Texas APBT Club for putting on this earth-shattering event and to honorable Theresa Werder for judging my Bicker Boy to a place in history. Despite what the competition said, Bicker Boy still possesses correct, balanced movement and deserves this win.  Show me a dog who can move around the ring so flawlessly at his age and I will show you a well structured dog!  Thanks too, to Karyn Dawes and Lori Bowling for judging "Kracker" to this monumental win.  Bicker shares this first UNWPA Total Dog status with his son Koda, and a hard pulling blue dog from the classes!

At the 2009 WA Classic, BickerBoy pulled off 3 Total Dog awards, one each day.  Two in agility and one in Rally 3!  I am so proud of my 10 1/2 year old guy.

Add that to his second Premier Total Dog award by earning the first award of merit in the Grand Class and pulling 30 times his body weight!
