Agility
At the 2008 Premier
Weekend, PowerBall earned his Agility 1 and Agility 2 titles in UKC in rapid
time! PB is the flying agility AmStaff and he absolutely LOVES to play!
Power began training
with Sandra Katzen at Vortex
agility Training Center at the age of 14 months old in November of
2006. He spent the first year just learning the basics and after that, we
began putting things together and adding weave poles.
I HATE WEAVE
POLES!
We used a technique
developed by a trainer whose name I will find out and I will post a link to her
great article. PowerBall learned the weaves in 6 weeks! (He also
broke 6 guide wires and six poles in the process!) Anything for a tennis
ball!
PowerBall
trained for 19 months before our first trial. All our ground work paid
off as we secured our titles in style with 3 firsts places in our division
and a third! We even earned a high in trial A dog award from the Trail
Creek Dog Training Club! Thanks guys for an awesome first trial!!
Our only NQ resulted in the funky UKC equipment like the swing plank gone broad
jump and the dreaded sit jump sit!

Of course PowerBall
thinks tunnels are the bomb! He KNOWS there is a ball at the end!

thinks the contact obstacles are the bomb too! He just KNOWS there is a
ball at the end!

Of course there is
always the posibility that there is a contact plate at the end of the dog walk
with crack biscuit on it!

Then again, running
is just a joy!
